Uses
Gaviscon Oral Suspension is used for the relief of:

Acid reflux

Heartburn and burning sensation in chest or throat

Indigestion after meals

Acid regurgitation

Discomfort after fatty or spicy foods

Symptoms during pregnancy (with medical advice)
How It Works

Alginate forms a thick, durable “raft” that sits on top of stomach contents.

Bicarbonate and calcium carbonate neutralize excess stomach acid.
-
The raft barrier prevents upward flow of acid into the esophagus, reducing irritation and discomfort.
Dosage & Administration
Adults and children 12+ years:
-
10–20 ml after meals and at bedtime.
Children 6–12 years:
-
5–10 ml after meals and at bedtime.

Use only with medical guidance.
Important:

Take strictly after meals and before bedtime for best effectiveness.

Shake the bottle well before use.
-
Do not take on an empty stomach, as it may reduce the formation of the protective raft.
Precautions & Warnings

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Consult a doctor before using if you:

Have kidney problems
-
Are on a low-sodium or low-calcium diet

Have high calcium levels
-
Are pregnant or breastfeeding

Leave a 2-hour gap between Gaviscon and other oral medications (it may affect absorption).

Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

If symptoms persist longer than 7 days, seek medical advice.
